Marco Antonio Periban headlines in Texas on July 14

On Saturday, July 14, Golden Boy Promotions will team up with Southcoast Promotions to present an action-packed night of fights at the Humble Civic Arena in Humble, Texas which will be televised on TeleFutura’s “Sólo Boxeo Tecate.”. The 10-round super middleweight main event will see unbeaten Mexican rising star Marco Antonio Periban risk his perfect professional record against San Diego’s James Parison.

Periban vs. Parison, a 10-round super middleweight bout, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Southcoast Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. on fight night and the first bell rings at 7:00 p.m.  The TeleFutura “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” broadcast begins at 10:00 p.m. CT/11:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Tickets priced at $25 are available for purchase from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturday, July 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Humble Civic Center box office.

Unbeaten in 17 professional fights, with 11 of his wins coming by way of knockout, Mexico City’s Marco Antonio Periban has paid his dues in the super middleweight division and as 2012 hits the midway point, he’s ready to make his move toward a world title opportunity. Going 5-0 in 2011, the dynamic 27-year-old has added to his win total in 2012 with a decision win over previously unbeaten Jesus Angel Nerio and a second round technical knockout over Gerardo Diaz. He will attempt to become the first man to stop James Parison on July 14.

A former National Golden Gloves winner and 2004 Olympic trials participant, 30-year-old James “Choco” Parison (15-1-1, 4 KO’s) is more than ready to for his match-up with Periban. Unbeaten in four fights since his lone loss via decision to Craig McEwan in November of 2009, Parison has the skills necessary to do big things in the super middleweight division and will look to let Periban and the entire world know that when he takes to the ring in Humble on the 14th.

A full slate of exciting undercard bouts will be announced shortly.
