Miguel Cotto vs. James Kirkland cancelled due to Kirkland injury

Roc Nation Sports received notification from James Kirkland’s team that Kirkland has suffered an injury which will force him to withdraw from his match against Miguel Cotto on Saturday, February 25, 2017.

The reported injury is a fractured nose. Unfortunately, the entire Cotto vs. Kirkland HBO Pay-Per-View show at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas is cancelled.

What’s interesting is that the fight isn’t being postponed, it’s just straight up cancelled. Of course, it was panned, not only overall as a fight for Cotto, but particularly for a pay-per-view event. So you have to at least wonder for a moment whether or not they just pulled the plug on this thing, injury or otherwise.
