MTK Global promoted in Newcastle and several domestic contenders ticked over on the night.

The show closer was Benwell’s charismatic Joe Laws, who scored a second round stoppage of Jan Prokes. Laws will next appear on the undercard of the Matchroom promoted show, featuring the return of Lewis Ritson against former world champion Miguel Vazquez at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle on April 4.

Ellis Corrie kept hold of his Northern Area Welterweight title as he blasted away Chad Ellis inside a round. Chad was previously unbeaten ahead of the contest but was no match for Corrie.

Super Welterweight Troy Williamson will hope 2020 is the year he finally gets a break, and he warmed up for bigger things this year with a routine second round stoppage of Daniel Urbanski.

Jeff Saunders moved to 14-0 with a points win over Edvinas Puplauskas, while Joe Maphosa dominated all six rounds against Moises Mojica.

There was a shock early on in the card when Lee Reeves was dropped and then outpointed over four by Artur Davydenko.
