Rich Thomas: Speed isn’t everything, but speed plus power is pretty close, and Pacquiao has that. Although Mosley might land the odd hard shot during the fight, I can’t see him scoring with the short combo of hard punches he would need to deter Pacquiao. Coping with Pacquiao’s lightning fists from all angles will force Mosley to cut his punch output, and if nothing else, that will pretty much dictate Pacquiao landing more leather and outpointing him. The more Mosley tries, the more he will get tagged. Official Pacquiao vs. Mosley Prediction: Pacquiao UD12.

Scott Levinson: Speed—a longtime hallmark of Mosley’s game just might be his weakness at this late stage of his career. Except for a few scant moments, Mayweather dominated Mosley with speed and Pacquiao is no slouch in that department. While still fast himself, Mosley will struggle to contain the whirlwind style of Pacquiao. It’s difficult to write off a man as talented and well-prepared as Mosley, especially as he is facing a do-or-die situation in his career. This just seems like a tough spot for the old lion. While this year has shown that anything can happen, I just can’t believe a guy pushing 40 with 2 official wins in his last 5 fights is the right candidate to pull off this type of feat—even if it is a great like Sugar Shane. I like Pacquiao somewhere between the 9th and 11th rounds. Official Pacquiao vs. Mosley Prediction: Pacquiao TKO 9-11

Jake Emen: A fight between prime incarnations of Mosley and Pacquiao at either 135 or 147 lbs would be phenomenal. This isn’t the fight that we’ll be seeing, however. Mosley won’t be able to stay out of harm’s way, and he won’t be able to tag the speedier Pacquiao flush , either. Shane has never been adept at bouncing back from early struggles in a fight to turn things around late, and that is a terrible sign of things to come against Pacquiao. Pacquiao won’t be able to take Shane out, but the accumulation of punishment will leave Shane humbled, broken down and altogether battered after a full 12 rounds. Official Pacquiao vs. Mosley Prediction: Pacquiao UD 118-110

Dana Miller: Two good guys meet in the ring on May 7th, but only one is a long shot.  Mosley is involved in another fight where speed will not be to his advantage.  Mosley should be the bigger and stronger fighter, but with the way we saw Pac Man destroy Margarito, you can pretty much throw that advantage out the window. I expect Mosley to come out and fight Pacquiao early, throwing hard, crisp shots.  I also expect Pacquiao to come out and invite Mosley to a slugfest.  I expect Pacquiao to take over this fight with his side to side movement. He’ll hit Shane through his guard with hard straight left hands and combinations as Shane stays waiting for the big shot.  Mosley will have a chance in the fight if he can land a big shot, but at the end of the day, Pacquiao will be too fast, too dominant, and dare I say it, too skilled. Official Pacquiao vs. Mosley Prediction: Pacquiao by twelve round unanimous decision victory.

Bryan Parkhurst: With a wave of upsets taking over the sport of boxing, my pick isn’t as clear as it once was. Like the old saying goes, styles make fights, and Mosley has shown when he has an offensive fighter in front of him, he usually delivers a good performance.  I expect him to come out trying to establish his power by landing his straight right, as well as hooks to the body.  I don’t expect him to win, but I do think he will be game in the first half of the fight, possibly hurting Manny early on.  Manny being Manny will do what he always does, overwhelm you with speed and angles, moving in and out.  While it will be a good fight early, I think Manny will completely take over in the second half, and have Mosley in serious trouble by the 10th – 12th rounds. Official Pacquiao vs. Mosley Prediction: Pacquiao TKO 10-12

Brandon Taylor: In this Year of the Upset, will we see one of historical proportions? I don’t think Mosley is finished yet. He could come out fast against Pacquiao similar to how he started the Mayweather fight. However, I don’t think he has enough pop left to knock Pacquiao out. I expect a close fight until the middle rounds when Mosley will start to show the effects of getting hit with Pacquiao’s hard punches, coming from both hands and all angles. Pacquiao will win a decision, although I wouldn’t be surprised by a late round stoppage. Official Pacquiao vs. Mosley Prediction: Pacquiao UD

Robert Fite: I expect the first three to four rounds of the fight to be a highly competitive slugfest.  This will be Mosley’s last chance to regain super-stardom and I do not expect him to let the opportunity slip away idly.  That said, Mosley is now 39-years-old, and I expect him to tire come the mid rounds.  I believe Pacquiao will go on to dominate the rest of the fight, but Mosley’s excellent chin and heart will keep him from getting KO’d.  Pacquiao has superb stamina and an iron chin, so although there have been several upsets in boxing as of late, do not expect one here. Official Pacquiao vs. Mosley Prediction: Pacquiao by UD

Anthony Jeffrey: Shane Mosley, despite his age, is still arguably one of the hardest punchers pound-for-pound in the sport… just ask Antonio Margarito. However, only expect this to be a real threat from rounds 1-4.  I don’t see Mosley winning by decision at all, either.  My gut instinct is that Pacquiao’s volume and speed of attack, from all angles, could be so overwhelming that he’ll score a knockout late in the fight.  Official Pacquiao vs. Mosley Prediction: Manny Pacquiao to win by TKO in rounds 9-11

That makes the final tally for our Pacquiao vs. Mosley predictions as: 8 for Pacquiao (5 by decision & 3 by stoppage); 0 for Mosley
