Former UFC star Molly McCann made the switch from Dana White’s UFC to Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing last year.

Hearn and White have gone back-and-forth over the past few months, and McCann has compared the two.

‘Meatball’ fought in what would be her final UFC bout on March 22, suffering a first-round defeat to Alexia Thainara in London.

She had previously fought under the UFC banner for just under seven years.

Although she never won a world title with the promotion, she did claim championship honours with Cage Warriors after lifting the flyweight crown.

Following her retirement, McCann made the switch to a new discipline, with Matchroom Boxing formally announcing the signing of ‘Meatball’ in July last year.

As Hearn and White continued to clash, McCann spoke highly of the pair when speaking to Pro Boxing Fans.

“I don’t know, I love both men.”

One of the catalysts behind the feud between the two promoters came in February, when long-time Matchroom boxer Conor Benn switched from Hearn to Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.

Hearn conveyed his disappointment over the move when speaking to IFL TV at the time.

“Me personally, I’m pretty devastated.

“I blame myself because I forgot it was boxing.

“I just felt that the loyalty that we’ve shown would never, ever put us in this position.

“I just felt that I never really needed to push Conor Benn to sign a new contract previously.

“I made a mistake because I misjudged the character.”

After his one-fight deal with Zuffa took place in April, it was announced just a few days later that Benn had committed to a multi-fight deal with the promotional outfit.

McCann gave her thoughts on the Benn move.

“If they just cordially understood each other… Eddie is obviously over the Conor Benn s*** now, but that weren’t cool.

“Probably more so on Conor’s part than Dana’s. That didn’t help with anything.”

Another topic that has fuelled the feud is Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua’s fight, which is set to take place in the closing stages of the year.

White claimed he was promoting the bout, while Hearn insisted that, contractually, it would not be possible.

White spoke just a few hours ago at a UFC press conference and gave his thoughts on Hearn.

“I don’t hate Eddie Hearn. He came out and started saying crazy s***, which I didn’t see coming. I do not care what they do; we are not the same.”

McCann also gave her thoughts on White taking a more passive stance regarding Hearn recently.

“That’s done now and I feel like Dana’s conversations and how he speaks, his language is different in how he speaks about Eddie.

“Whereas Eddie’s language is like, ‘I want war.’”
