With reports of a rematch between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley looming, Frank Warren has had his say.
Promoter Warren hailed Dubois and Wardley’s first clash as one of the best fights he has promoted.
The pair first collided in May, with Wardley being dethroned as ‘DDD’ stopped him in the penultimate round.
Prior to their bout, the defending champion was unbeaten, having picked up some crucial wins against opponents including Joseph Parker, Justis Huni and Frazer Clarke.

The first fight marked his first defence of the WBO heavyweight crown after Usyk vacated the title weeks after the Ipswich-based fighter stunned Joseph Parker.
Warren spoke to Playbook Boxing about their first meeting.
“Great fight. Great fight the first time.
“The second one is going to be competitive.”
The Ring Magazine first reported that the two are set to collide once again in October as they headline the Co-op Live for a second time.

The Daniel Dubois vs Fabio Wardley rematch has a working date of Oct 17th and is expected to take place at the Co-op Live in Manchester, The Ring understands 🇬🇧

The first fight broke the record for attendance at an indoor arena, a feat they will hope to replicate in October.
Many have questioned the pace at which Wardley is set to return, but Warren made it clear he should not be discounted going into a rematch.
“We’ll find out in October.
“He’s hurt Daniel twice and put him down twice, and Daniel got himself back into it, showed great discipline, boxed extremely well and showed what he is about.
“I think Fabio, in his head, must feel that, because he hurt him, he’s capable of stopping him. He’s done it to everyone he’s fought bar one.”

Wardley dropped ‘DDD’ in the first and third rounds respectively three months ago.
