Teremoana Teremoana blasted out DeAndre Savage in the second round of their heavyweight contest in Australia on Wednesday.

Teremoana (12-0, 12 KOs) floored Savage (11-2, 11 KOs) with a hard right hand and the American was unable to beat referee Phil Austin’s 10 count at the The Star in the Gold Coast.

The unbeaten 28-year-old hadn’t been taken into the second round since 2021 and was on a run of eight consecutive first round victories.

The Brisbane man took his time in the opening round, patiently finding his range.

The visitor was on the retreat from the outset, but was forced to ship a number of right hands without any reply.

The 35-year-old attempted to engage in the second round, but his race was run almost immediately.

Teremoana connected with a jab followed by a right hand, before a follow-up right hand had him on the deck.

The American got to one knee, but did not even attempt to beat the referee’s 10 count.

Teremoana revealed he will likely feature on the undercard of the long-awaited showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, which Is set to take place in November.

“I should be on the AJ and Fury undercard,” he said post-fight.

“That’s a great opportunity for myself.”

“My final destination is being world champion and then undisputed.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn sung the praises of his charge post-fight.

“We’ve got to step up the opposition.

“We did that tonight supposedly.

“Teremoana is too good. You see the fear on Savage’s face as soon as he landed, his eyes were popping out of his head.

“We need to find someone that will get up.

“Australia has the best chance it has ever had to have a heavyweight superstar in Teremoana Teremoana.”

The New South Wales native extended his perfect record to 12 straight wins with as many knockouts and is yet to be taken into the third round as a professional.

Savage was stopped for the first time in his 13-fight career, with his other defeat coming on points to Brandon Moore last September.

Zerafa stops Ortiz

Michael Zerafa returned to winning ways with an eighth round stoppage over Alejandro Ortiz.

Zerafa (35-5, 23 KOs) was accused of quitting in his last outing in a no contest with Nikita Tszyu in January following an accidental clash of heads.

The Australian’s timing looked off during his bout with Ortiz (26-2, 25 KOs), but the 34-year-old made the breakthrough, knocking down the Venezuelan in the eighth round.

The 25-year-old got back to his feet, but walked groggily to his corner and the referee waved off the contest with Ortiz sat defeated on his stool.

Remaining Undercard

Jasmine Parr dominated former sparring partner Jemma Paert (9-2, 3 KOs), claiming a unanimous decision win.

Parr (9-2, 3 KOs) bounced back from a stoppage defeat to Mai Soliman, winning every round on all three judges’ scorecards at 80-72.

Super middleweight, Jack Bowen (14-1, 11 KOs finally broke Mielifeier Dalielibieke (10-4, 8 KOs) resistance, landing a barrage of unanswered blows in the seventh round, before the referee stopped the contest.

Light heavyweight prospect, Omar El-Abdallah (6-0, 5 KOs) floored Jordan Towns (8-5, 7 KOs) twice in a third round stoppage victory.

Flyweight Lekaysha Woodbridge (5-0, 3 KOs) remained unbeaten with a unanimous decision win over Sothita Sitthichai and Reube Thornberry (4-0, 3 KOs) halted debutant Kai Kurr (0-1) at super welterweight.
