Derek Chisora has been called out by WBA heavyweight world champion, Murat Gassiev.
Chisora was ringside in Moscow on Saturday to see Gassiev retain his WBA title with a sixth round stoppage of Peter Kadiru.
The Brit then went face-to-face with the Russian champion in the ring.
And Gassiev insists if he’s unable to lure fellow world champions, Daniel Dubois [WBO] or Agit Kabayel [WBC] into a ring with him, he’d be open to facing the 42-year-old.
“If we can’t unify the belts in the near future, why not?” the 32-year-old said.
“Unification fights are always the priority.
“The champions have the belts and that’s what every boxer is chasing.
“Chisora and I have a good relationship. We’re friends.
“He’s a big name in boxing and that fight would generate a lot of excitement.
“I’m sure it would be a very entertaining fight.”
Gassiev was set to face Tony Yoka, but after the Frenchman withdrew with a back injury, Kadiru was drafted in at late notice.
Chisora has been beaten in his two previous world title attempts against Tyson Fury and Vitali Klitschko respectively.
‘War’ claimed that his April fight with Deontay Wilder was his 50th and final professional bout, but the Londoner has yet to formally announce his retirement and has teased a rematch with the American.
“I’m working on the rematch,” he told Sky Sports News in May.
“The wife has given me the green light, so I will be doing the rematch.
“I haven’t confirmed it yet.
“I have a couple meetings tomorrow [on Wednesday] and we will see how that goes.
“He [Wilder] is keen because he’s upset with the result as well.

“Yes he might have won but he’s upset, so we are going to run it back.
“That’s it. [At the] end of this year I will retire.”
