Shakur Stevenson believes a highly-anticipated showdown with Gervonta Davis is inevitable.
A Davis-Stevenson match-up remains one of the sport’s most desired clashes.
Stevenson inked a deal with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing last week and is confident a meeting with his fellow unbeaten American will materialise.
“He may not admit it, but I think he got a lot of respect for me as a fighter,” the 29-year-old told Chris Mannix.
“Which is why I think he’s planning on leaving the game, he plans on fighting me as his last fight on his way out of the door.
“We are the two guys that are the best in the sport and our destinies are calling each other to fight each other.
“I think I will be his last fight for sure.”
’Tank’ hasn’t fought since a contentious draw with Lamont Roach in March.
The 31-year-old has been embroiled in controversies since, including a civil lawsuit from an ex-girlfriend.
Davis, who saw a lucrative exhibition with Jake Paul scheduled for November collapse due to his legal issues, was placed as WBA lightweight champion in recess last month.
The WBA have ordered number one contender, Floyd Schofield to face Lucas Badhi, the number two contender for the vacant title.
The WBA said in a statement: “According to publicly available information, Davis is currently facing pending legal proceedings in the United States that could result in a trial and affect his ability to defend the title within the timeframes established by WBA regulations.
“As a result, and in accordance with Championship Rules C.21, C.22, and C.27, as well as the provisions of the WBA Code of Ethics, the Association has declared him Champion in Recess.

“As part of the resolution, the WBA has ordered Schofield and Bahdi to contest the vacant WBA Lightweight title in a bout that will shape the immediate future of one of boxing’s most competitive divisions.
“The resolution has been officially communicated to all parties involved.
“It takes effect immediately and supersedes any previous rulings involving the aforementioned boxers.
“Any issues that may arise during the process will be resolved in accordance with the WBA’s internal rules and regulations.”
