Johnny Fisher has lifted the lid on some shock negotiations that took place regarding a fight between himself and former WBC world champion Deontay Wilder.
Fisher and Wilder are two fighters at differing stages of their careers, but a fight between the pair would promise excitement.
‘The Romford Bull’ recently made headlines after switching his long-time promoter for Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.
Fisher has been promoted by Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing from the early stages of his professional career after he turned over with very little amateur experience.

He spoke to talkSPORT and revealed all about a conversation with both Hearn and Turki Alalshikh during the closing stages of his Matchroom contract.
“There was talks, a couple of weeks before my contract was up.
“Eddie [Hearn] FaceTimed me with Turki Alalshikh and he said, ‘Wilder, Istanbul, end of August?’ So I was like, ‘yeah, no problem.’
“They made me a few offers with different things, they were trying to get fights to happen and, for whatever reason, they weren’t materialising.”
The 27-year-old was last in action in December when he won in Monaco despite overcoming an early onslaught from Ivan Balaz.
That marked his first fight since losing to Dave Allen in their rematch last May.

Fisher was stopped in the fifth round by ‘The White Rhino.’
He continued to discuss whether he was keen on a fight with Wilder.
“At one point it was going to be Wilder — of course I was up for that. That didn’t happen because of the politics of boxing.
“Sometimes Turki can say one thing and think that it’s going to happen, but through no one’s fault, other things happen in boxing that mean a fight, even when they are announced on social media, collapses.”
‘The Bronze Bomber’ was last in action in April when he beat Derek Chisora on points at the O2 Arena. He was a decisive winner on the night.

Wilder continues to be linked with a fight with two-time undisputed heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk, in what he has claimed would be his last-ever fight.
There were rumours of negotiations for the pair to fight earlier in the year, possibly in San Francisco, but they ultimately went their separate ways as Wilder beat Chisora and Usyk controversially stopped Rico Verhoeven.

A meeting between the two now seems extremely likely, so a fight with Fisher would have to wait.
‘The Romford Bull’ returns on September 26 against an unnamed opponent on his Zuffa Boxing debut.
