Fury vs AJ: Eddie Hearn claims issues still need to be resolved, despite the announcement of Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua.
Netflix finally announced the long-overdue Fury vs Joshua clash on Thursday for December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
The announcement ends months of debate over where the Fury vs AJ bout would take place, with Saudi Arabia’s Sela and Netflix pushing to stage it at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Zuffa Boxing chief Dana White claimed he brokered a deal to hold the Fury vs Joshua fight at MSG, with streaming giant Netflix showing it.
However, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn insisted Fury vs AJ must take place in the UK, in line with the contract Joshua signed in April.
A press release from Netflix indicated that White would help promote the bout. But, Hearn claims Sela and Turki Alalshikh have assured him White will play no role in the Fury vs Joshua promotion.
“Dana White cannot be involved with this fight promotionally,” Hearn told IFLTV.
“Netflix clearly didn’t get the memo. No one talks to each other. I speak to Sela and Turki [Alalshikh].

“[They say] ‘no, Dana White is not involved in the fight. You’ve got a contract that says that. He won’t be at the presser’ and then Netflix say the fight is in conjunction with Dana White.
“We’ve got a lot of stuff to still sort out around the fight.”
Fury vs AJ issues
In addition to this, Netflix announced the bout as Fury vs AJ, suggesting Fury as the A-side. However, Hearn claims he never signed off on this.
Despite Thursday’s Fury vs Joshua announcement and a press conference set for next Wednesday in London, Hearn claims he’s doubtful whether it’ll go ahead.
“They’ve announced it’s Fury vs AJ,” the Matchroom chairman added. “No problem. We couldn’t care less.
“No that was never agreed.
“We’re supposed to do a press conference next week. I’m not sure whether that’ll happen or not, because there are a few things we’re still ironing out.”
