Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois battled it out in May, and Eddie Hearn has given his thoughts on a possible rematch.
Hearn acknowledged Wardley’s first career loss to Dubois yet encouraged him to run it back immediately.
The pair fought on May 9 at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester in front of what was a record-breaking indoor attendance.
In what was a real firefight, Wardley saw success early on, dropping ‘DDD’ twice in the first three rounds, with Dubois doing well to survive the early onslaught from the defending world champion.

Hearn promoted Wardley in the early stages of the heavyweight’s career after he turned professional in 2017.
Speaking to DAZN Boxing, Matchroom’s chairman heaped praise on the 31-year-old.
“What Fabio Wardley has achieved is incredible, and he deserves it all; he has gone in there and he’s done it.
“To get a shot at the world heavyweight title is so difficult to do and once you – these guys are all like planes, all waiting to land, when you get your landing slot you better be ready.
“If you don’t land you are going to be circling around with another 12 planes waiting and waiting.”
Going into the first fight in May, he was unbeaten with some major wins against names including Joseph Parker, Justis Huni and Frazer Clarke in his previous three fights.

Despite his success early on, he was decisively beaten by ‘Dynamite’, who stopped him in the 11th round.
Just days after the loss, it was confirmed that the Ipswich-based fighter would go ahead with a rematch clause that was placed in the initial contract.
Many questioned him going straight back in with Dubois, but Hearn provided a different outlook.

“If Fabio Wardley doesn’t take this rematch clause he may never get another shot at the world heavyweight title.”
As per The Ring Magazine, a targeted date of October 17 has been discussed, with the Co-op Live once again expected to host as Wardley looks to right the wrongs of his first defeat six months on.
