The Wladimir Klitschko vs. Kubrat Pulev press conference was held today, in advance of their heavyweight championship clash on Saturday in Germany, which is now being televised live in the U.S. on HBO Boxing. Well, at least the press conference was kind of held. It was missing one of its key components – challenger Kubrat Pulev, who was a no show at the end.

Klitschko talked about his recovery from injury and getting back to top condition. He had this to say:

“I’m a professional from A to Z. I always give the best I can, show the best I got. Therefore I need to be healthy 100%. And when I enter the ring on Saturday I will be healthy 100%!”

To support there, we have a new training camp video from Klitschko as well.

In the video, we learn and see a bit about what motivates Klitschko to continue fighting and to always be dedicated in training camp. We see some clips of Klitschko in the gym, as well clips of some family and video of him speaking.

Here are more quotes from Klitschko and his team:

Klitschko is looking forward to the challenge –

“I cannot wait for the fight to start. Kubrat Pulev has had good performances in the past and a long time to prepare himself for this fight. Pulev is one of the best apart from the Champion.”

Trainer Johnathon Banks said: “Wladimir Klitschko is the best heavyweight in the world. He is the hardest working and he will continue to prove that he is the best heavyweight in the world.”

Manager Bernd Bönte: “He is the longest lasting champion in history after Joe Louis.” On Pulev, he said: “Pulev is unbeaten and has had a great amateur career.”

At the press conference Bönte announced that Klitschko Management Group has reached a long-term agreement with HBO Boxing, calling it “a great cooperation.”

It’s fight week for Klitschko vs. Pulev, so we’ll be bringing you updates on the bout, the best heavyweight title fight in years, all week long.
