Luis Ramos Jr & Deontay Wilder in action Sept 8th at OC Fair & Event Center

The Hangar at the OC Fair & Event Center will get the month of September off to a rousing start on Saturday the 8th when unbeaten junior welterweight rising star Luis Ramos Jr. looks for win number 23 in a row against veteran standout Noe Bolaños in a 10-round bout that headlines September’s edition of Golden Boy Promotions’ boxing series on FOX Sports Net and FOX Deportes.

In the co-main event, scheduled for 10 rounds in the heavyweight division, 2008 United States Bronze Medalist Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder looks for his 25th knockout in 25 fights against fellow unbeaten Damon McCreary.

24-year-old Luis Ramos Jr. (22-0, 9 KO’s) has shown remarkable skill and poise with each successive step up in competition he has taken. In 2011, Ramos began his run to the top with big wins over Francisco Lorenzo and David Rodela, but this year, the Santa Ana, Calif. southpaw upped the ante even more by decisioning respected contender Raymundo Beltran in January and then nearly shutting out rugged former world title challenger Daniel Attah in April. He’ll look to remain undefeated against the always tough Bolaños on the 8th.

Ciudad Obregon’s Noe Bolaños (24-6-1, 16 KO’s) has grown up in the world of professional boxing, turning professional a week after his 17th birthday in 2003. Since then, he has built a well-earned reputation as a rugged warrior willing to throw hands with anyone in the game at a moment’s notice. After some rough outings between 2007 and 2009, Bolaños got back on track in 2010 and has won four of his last five, all by knockout. On September 8, he will test the unbeaten Ramos.

Already 4-0 in 2012, with knockout wins over Marlon Hayes, Jesse Oltmanns, Owen Beck and Kertson Manswell, Tuscaloosa, Alabama’s Deontay Wilder (24-0, 24 KO’s) has been cutting a path of destruction through the heavyweight division throughout his career. A 2008 United States Olympic Bronze Medalist with knockout power in both hands, the 26-year-old “Bronze Bomber” has just one suggestion for those watching his fight on September 8, don’t blink.

Detroit’s Damon “Bulldog” McCreary (14-0, 10 KO’s) has yet to taste defeat in a professional boxing ring and on September 8 he has every intention of keeping that streak intact by shocking rising star Wilder. The owner of a technical knockout win over Etianne Whitaker, the 39-year-old will be making his first appearance in California and he’s primed and ready to perform.
