Navarrete vs Foster results: O’Shaquie Foster decisively became unified super featherweight world champion at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. He dropped Emanuel Navarrete twice en route to a wide points win on Saturday.
Foster arrived in Texas as the WBC champion. He was last out in May, taking a majority verdict against Ray Ford. Meanwhile, Navarrete came in as IBF and WBO boss. The Mexican was coming off a penultimate-round stoppage of Eduardo ‘Sugar’ Nunez in February.
Navarrete targeted the body of Foster in the opener. But the American was excellent in hitting and not getting hit, and his hand and foot speed were of the highest quality in the second round.
Although, he did have to fend off several Navarrete attacks in the second, as the Mexican landed to the body.
The Mexican was wild in his approach, and Foster was the technician. A big right hand landed for Navarrete in the third. But Foster was confident in his defence, and made his opponent swing for the fences in round four.

Foster floors Navarrete twice
‘Ice Water’ was throwing in bunches, and landing, and as the fight went over halfway, a massive left hook connected that rocked Navarrete in what was becoming a dazzling display from the Texan.
The 33-year-old was now pulling away, and making Navarrete chase, but as the pace slowed, Navarrete had success, especially in the 10th.
‘Vaquero’ had more success in the penultimate round. However, that all unravelled in the final frame. The 31-year-old swung for the fences, and was caught by a counter right hand that decked him.

Navarrete survived, but again went for broke towards the end of the round. Another check right hook had him over for a second time, and the fight eventually went to the cards.
Two scores of 118-108 and a third at 115-111 clinched a breathless victory for Foster.
Foster could now target an undisputed title clash with the winner of Anthony Cacace vs Nick Ball, who clash for the WBA title on December 19.
Gonzalez, Martin secure stoppages
Elsewhere on the Navarrete vs Foster results, Albert Gonzalez defended his NABF featherweight title with second-round knockout of Edward Vazquez.
A pair of body shots from Gonzalez ensured a 19th straight professional victory.
Meanwhile, Frank Martin took the vacant WBO NABO super lightweight title with a seventh round stoppage of Tarik Zaina.
