Makabu vs. Fields, Nkosinathi Joyi & undefeated Ryno Liebenberg in action this weekend in Johannesburg

Just announced is the Triple Thunder card, which will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on August 31, and is promoted by South Africa-based Golden Gloves Promotions, an action-packed event feature three marquee fights.

In the main event, highly-touted and hard-punching Ilunga Makabu (14-1, 13 KO) defends his WBC silver cruiserweight belt against dangerous two-time USA Golden Gloves heavyweight champion Eric Fields (22-1, 16 KO). Having only lost in his debut match, Makabu has been proving his case as a major contender at cruiserweight, soundly defeating his last three opponents who had a combined record of 41-0-1 before facing him.

A battle for the vacant WBC international silver light heavyweight title will see popular Ryno Liebenberg (12-0, 8 KO) return to Emperor’s Palace for the seventh time to take on Gabriel Arturo Ramirez (13-4-1, 7 KO).

Also featured will be former IBF minimumweight champion Nkosinathi Joyi (23-2, 16 KO) who makes his debut at junior flyweight against Benezer Alolod (12-4-4, 2 KO) who defends his WBC international junior flyweight championship.

Live from Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa, with a television start time of 17:30 GMT, this highly anticipated event will be broadcast internationally on SuperSport in Africa, beIN Sport USA, Al Jazeera Sport in the Middle East, TyC Sports in Argentina, beIN Sport France, and on many more broadcasters worldwide.
