In a packed card in Dubai, the hastily rearranged main event saw Muhammad Waseem win his WBA Flyweight title eliminator with a well earned points win over Rober Barrera. Waseem also claimed the WBC Silver belt.


Waseem had only lost in a bid for Moruti Mthalane for the IBF World title previously, and overcame a cut to record a points win over a gruelling twelve rounds. Scores of 117-111, 115-114 and 115-113 gave the a Pakistani a richly deserved victory.

There were plenty of big names in action on the undercard as well as in attendance including Britain’s two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

Rocky Fielding continued his slow rebuild after losing his world title to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, and the Liverpudlian now campaigns at light heavyweight, and he forced Emnanuel Danso to retire after two rounds, having dropped his opponent three times during the second frame.


Badou Jack, a world champion at super middleweight and light heavyweight, is now performing at cruiserweight, and the Swede notched three knockdowns en route to a second round victory against Samuel Crossed.

The original headliner was due to be Ohara Davies, and the Hackney native was due to face Ismael Barroso, but Barroso was forced to withdraw at short notice due to travel issues. Davies fought on, and had to settle for a ten round win on the cards against Dubai based Kenyan, Nicholas Mwangi at super lightweight. Davies took the win by a margin of 99-91 on all three scorecards.

Bader Samreen stopped Diagri Hamesh insise a round, while Faizan Anwar notched a points win against Viktor Plotnikov. Joshua Ridgewell outscored Ramazan Babayev over four, and Sameer Anwar banked a points win against Ramiz Mammadov.
