Prescott vs. McCloskey To be Shown Live on ESPN3.com!

US-based boxing fans interested in seeing the important 12-round WBA light welterweight elimination match between Colombian slugger Breidis Prescott (24-2, 19 KOs) and Irishman Paul McCloskey (22-1, 12 KOs) from the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, can do so online at ESPN3.com where coverage will start at 3:45 PM Eastern.
The intriguing bout will feature the classic boxer/puncher match-up, as Prescott is an offensive force with power in both hands and McCloskey is a classic boxer with excellent technique.

Both fighters say they will be looking to use the other as a stepping stone back into the ring with WBA “Super” Champion Amir Khan. Prescott dealt Khan his only loss in 2008 via knockout and McCloskey dropped an abbreviated six-round decision to Khan last April. Marcos Maidana is the WBA “Regular” Light Welterweight Champion.

This is great news for boxing fans in the United States, as there are now two Saturday afternoon fights to check out. Vitali Klitschko vs. Tomasz Adamek will be shown live on HBO at about 5 pm, conveniently right after Prescott vs. McCloskey wraps up from its free, live showcase on ESPN3.com.

ll of this and Epix is continuing to get in on the action and showcase multiple boxing cards. Hopefully this continued exposure and the increasing number of outlets for televised or livestreamed boxing matches continues.
