Romero vs Lopez: Shakur Stevenson has made his prediction for Saturday’s Romero vs Teofimo Lopez WBA welterweight title fight.
Lopez will look to bounce back from his January defeat to Stevenson when he challenges Romero for his WBA title at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, live on DAZN pay-per-view.
Romero makes a first defence of the WBA welterweight title he captured with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Ryan Garcia last May, a victory which saw him become a three-division world champion.
Stevenson admits he picked Garcia to defeat Romero, but is confident ‘The Takeover’ will emerge victorious.
“I talk s*** bout teo but he for sure should win,” the 29-year-old posted on X.

“Although, I did pick Ryan to beat rolly, but I got more faith in Teo tbh!”
Romero and Stevenson have gone back-and-forth over the years, but are yet to share the ring with each other. Romero appeared to ignite their war of words this week, questioning the four-weight world champion’s resume.

Romero is out to prove Stevenson’s Romero Lopez prediction wrong.
“Shakur Stevenson, they’re going to say he’s a Hall of Famer?” he told reporters on Wednesday.
“Who has Shakur beaten that isn’t named Teofimo Lopez?
“His best win is Teofimo Lopez, so if I knock out Teofimo Lopez am I in the Hall of Fame?”

Romero vs Lopez – Who Is The Favourite?
For Lopez, victory over his compatriot would see him become a three-division world champion. The 29-year-old previously reigned as the unified lightweight champion and WBO super lightweight titlist, before Stevenson took his title.
Despite heading in as the champion, Romero is the bookies underdog. However, the 30-year-old is adamant of producing an emphatic victory over Lopez.
With Romero vs Teofimo Lopez just days away, Romero admits he has been close with his rival in the past.

“You spar your friends,” Romero told Fight Hype.
“It’s the same thing.
“He thinks he can beat me.

“I think I can beat him.
“I will walk him down.”
