Tijuana-based True Match Boxing will be traveling south to Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, on Wednesday, August 5th, with two of their strongest signings in strawweight Abraham “Choko” Rodriguez and Tania Enriquez. Both hail from Tijuana.

In the main event of the Los Mochis fight card presented by Promociones del Pacifico at the Wipa Bar will be WBC Latino super flyweight champion Oswaldo “Magnifico” Castro (20-6-3, 11KO) who faces Mario Lara (7-11-3, 2KO) in an eight rounder.  The match-up is a rematch of their 2013 fight which ended in a draw.

“We have a great deal of confidence in both Rodriguez and Enriquez,” Ibarra stated.  “Both are future world champions and to obtain the necessary experience, we are taking them out of their comfort zone and having them perform outside their hometown and against local opponents who might be the crowd’s favorites.”

Rodriguez (13-0, 6KO) will face Jose Lopez of Los Mochis in a 105-pound ten rounds.  With an aggressive but technical style, Rodriguez is considered one of the best up and coming young prospects from the hotbed of Tijuana.  There is talk that with a win here, Rodriguez will be challenging for the WBC Youth title before the end of the year.  In his last fight, Rodriguez dominated his most experienced opponent to date in Armando “Chiquita” Rodriguez winning a lopsided unanimous decision.

Only eighteen years old, Tania Enriquez (5-0, 2KO) is considered her hometown of Tijuana’s new female phenom when she captured the vacant WBC FECOMBOX title against the much more experienced Selene Lopez in her last fight in May.  Prior to that Enriquez had only fought four rounders but jumped up to ten and dominated the fight despite her right eye swelled shut in the third round.  With the win Tania, the younger sister of former WBO flyweight champion Kenia Enriquez, is looking for an opportunity for the WBC International title before 2016.

In Los Mochis, Enriquez will face undefeated Karla Islas of Culiacan, Sinaloa.
