Undefeated Juan Ruiz returns with KO win after 17 month layoff

Juan ‘El Niño’ Ruiz is back on track with a KO victory:

After a 17-month layoff, one of Venezuela’s most decorated amateur boxers, Juan ‘El Niño’ Ruiz (14-0, 8 KOs) made his return to the ring, with a first round knockout victory over Charly Valdez in a bout held in Tijuana, Mexico on Thursday, July 9.

The undefeated prospect in the welterweight division ended his amateur career with a outstanding record of 214-6.

“My managers Ben Lieblein, and Alfredo Rodriguez are working very hard, they have great expectations of me, and I’m just very grateful, and ready for any test they may have for me,” commented Juan Ruiz. “I’m currently training in Tijuana, and I was told that on August 21st I’m back again!”

Ruiz will make a quick return to the ring on August 21st at the Parque Revolución (Revolution Park) in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico.
