Mikey Garcia is continuing to make a big splash in boxing. The undefeated superstar in the making has been storming past his opponents, easily handling the likes of Orlando Salido, Juan Manuel Lopez and Rocky Martinez, amongst others. Clearly the sky is the limit for Garcia. In 2013, he went from contender who had never really stepped up, to a two-division titleholder with a string of big wins and a busy fight calendar. That’s why he was actually a runner up for our Fighter of the Year honors as a dark horse style candidate.
Burgos is a tough guy, and he should definitely provide a challenge for Mikey, but most are expecting him to pass this test with flying colors. Hopefully in the near future he’ll continue moving up, and be ready to take on some of the big names in and around the lightweight division.
