Katie Taylor dominates over Jasmine Clarkson in Brooklyn

Irish sensation Katie Taylor (6-0, 4 KOs) stopped Brooklynite Jasmine Clarkson (4-9) after three rounds of action in the unbeaten fighter’s U.S. debut. The Olympic Gold medalist was dominant from the outset, stalking her opponent around the ring and consistently trapping her in the corner. Taylor was effective with both hands and did most of her work to the head of Clarkson. After three rounds of damage, Clarkson’s corner stopped the bout and gave Taylor her first stateside win as a pro. “It was a fantastic experience being my first time competing here in the U.S,” said Taylor. “There were ...

Broner vs Garcia – Post Fight Recap

Before the fight Mikey Garcia stated, “I want my name mentioned with the best”. At the conclusion of my prediction, I stated that Adrien Broner is good, but Garcia is great and would show it. With his UD win over Broner, what Mikey Garcia showed is he’s greater than we thought. Moving up to the 140-pound weight division against Broner, who was undefeated at the weight, who was in the best shape of his career, and pre-fight stated he will let his hands to the talking, Mikey Garcia at the end of the 12th round bell gave the feeling we ...

Adrien Broner vs Mikey Garcia – Fight Prediction

Many fighters have talent which separates them from the average person, but what they do with that talent determines their success in the ring. With Mikey Garcia, we have a talented counter puncher who has the skill set to be a top fighter pound for pound; however, inactivity raises the question of how good is he? In the other corner, we have Adrien Broner, who is a very talented fighter who yearns for the spotlight of his mentor Floyd Mayweather, however, to date that talent hasn’t translated to universal success. The question with Broner is can he turn it around ...

Keep the momentum going: Fights we want to see

The start of 2017 has been a good year for boxing. We had the welterweight showdown between Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia, where Thurman furthered his case as the best in the division. We had the return of heavyweight excitement with Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko, where Joshua defeated the legend and took over as the best heavyweight in the world. GGG and Canelo each won their fights guaranteeing us a match between the two in September. Errol Spence is finally catching the eyes of the public whilst Pacquiao and Horn caused the sport a black cloud, however, the entertainment ...

Katie Taylor will make her US debut on Saturday July 29 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, on Sky Sports. Irish amateur sensation Taylor has impressed since joining the professional ranks in November, winning all five of her fights to date with three inside the distance, and moved into line for a WBA World Lightweight title shot in her last outing in April when the Bray favourite stopped Nina Meinke at Wembley Stadium in London to collect the WBA Inter-Continental strap into the bargain. Taylor fights over eight rounds on her bow on American soil, and the 31-year-old is excited ...
