Luna, a popular figure in his community, is excited to be fighting at home where his fans are expected to come out in masses. This marks the first time Luna will be fighting in his hometown and he’s promising to deliver a great night of boxing.

“It’s been a dream of mine to fight in my hometown ever since I started boxing at age nine.” said Luna. “The Pico Arena is walking distance from my house so I want to perform at my very best for all the fans that are coming to see me fight. Gary Shaw is doing a fantastic job and I want to thank him for bringing this fight to Whittier. I’ll be gunning for the knockout.”

Alejandro has stopped three of his last four opponents and looks to continue his winning ways as he stated, “I like to throw hard punches to the body and wear my opponent down. If I see that my opponent is hurt, then everyone who’s seen me fight knows I’m going for the KO. I’ll be happy if the knockout comes early, but will be ready to go the distance if need be.”

Gary Shaw understands the significance of promoting Luna in his hometown. He feels Luna can be a star within the Mexican community.

“Luna has deep rooted ties to his local community.” Shaw said. “In addition to being a great boxer, Alejandro has also followed his family’s life long tradition of competing in Mexican rodeo’s which is very popular in Mexican culture. Most of the males in his family have competed in the sport of rodeos, “Charreadas” in Spanish and Alejandro has kept that tradition alive on top of his great boxing career. I see Luna becoming a big star in the near future.”
