Russell started boxing when he was seven years old. He’s from a huge family, but one of his older brothers unfortunately passed away. In the video, Russell talks about his amateur credentials, his journey making the Olympic team, and more.

Here’s the video description from Showtime:

As a heralded amateur Gary Russell Jr. was poised for Olympic glory, but he fell ill and was unable to compete. Now, as an undefeated professional, he’s positioned to become a champion with a victory over top prospect Vasyl Lomachenko.
