Canelo vs Mbilli: Canelo Alvarez bids to become super middleweight world champion again when he faces Christian Mbilli in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Check out the Canelo Mbilli start time below.
Mbilli puts his WBC title on the line against Canelo at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.
Although, the ‘Mexico vs The World’ bill has been cast in doubt for several weeks. This is because King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was closed due to bombings from Houthis.
However, the airport has reopened and Alvarez arrived into Riyadh on Sunday, suggesting Saturday’s fight card will indeed go ahead.
The four-division world champion will fight for the first time in over a year. The 36-year-old lost his undisputed crown to Terence Crawford, who subsequently vacated his titles and retired.
Mbilli was then upgraded from interim champion to full WBC titlist and will make a first defence against Alvarez, who will fight for the 69th time as a professional.
